At last I am back with a year end post which has now become a ritual for every blogger to showcase his/her achievements/downfalls over the past 365 days and I am no exception to that.
I had quite a few resolutions on my kit for 2011 with respect to this space and I managed to achieve very little about that. I had vouched that I would write much more than what I did in 2010, but I wrote less than what I wrote in 2010. The same is the case with my reading statistics which literally dropped down to nothing over the past six months.
The only good thing I can quote to justify that I read something in 2011 was my journey with “Ponniyin Selvan”, a historical novel which literally carried me to the past. I can say that this could compensate for my absence from reading for the entire year. It left me awestruck with its sheer simplicity(with respect to the storyline) and the portrayal of characters.
There was also a period when I felt that my blog was slowly becoming a kind of travelogue. Yes , I managed to travel quite a lot during 2011. In fact, I had never gone on five different trips during a single year. So, it has been quite an eventful year as far as my travel diaries are concerned.
It all started off with a small trek on Kanakpura road during January. The summer carried me to Gokarna for an unforgettable experience with my close friends. It was followed by a trip to Palakkad for a colleague’s wedding. The monsoon then invited me for an expedition to Badami-Aihole-Pattadakkal with my colleagues which was then followed by a visit to the Western Ghats to meet some of the most beautiful waterfalls in India.
2011 also accounts for one of the most important events in my personal life. This has been the year which changed my relationship status. So, I can say 2011 brought about a change in my personal life.
Overall, 2011 has been a good eventful year and hoping for the best in 2012.
Here is wishing everyone a Very Happy New Year. God Bless
